Habitat Flats has had amazing success, rising from humble beginnings in 2008 to the highest level of respect and recognition in the waterfowl outfitting community in North America in just over ten years. We listened to our guests who consistently expressed a desire for a kennel that could train and breed world-class retrievers like ours.  We have answered. In uniting our passion of waterfowling with our love of retrievers, HFK offers three program objectives: Retriever Training, Retriever Breeding and Sales, and Education with special events for our clients. Habitat Flats Kennels celebrated its Grand Opening on March 1, 2021.

The success of Habitat Flats is unquestionably carried upon the backs of our companions in the field. Without their ability to maintain the pace of the hunt, encourage the smiles and rewarding pets of hunters, and show guides and guests alike what persistence looks like, waterfowling as we know it at Habitat Flats would be only a shell of itself.

Habitat Flats Kennels is a 5-Star kennel servicing both hunting and household dogs. From breeding to gun dog training, to field trial training and basic obedience, this state-of-the-art facility will service your every need. Event weekends will invite clients to come train with their dogs, attend seminars, and stay at the famed Habitat Flats home lodge with full meals, bar and snacks.

Situated in the rolling hills of northern Missouri, a short drive from Habitat Flats, the HF Kennels feature breathtaking training courses, technical ponds and recreated hunting environments. HF Kennels also utilizes the unlimited potential of the Habitat Flats duck farms to train dogs on site. Every waterfowl hunting blind will be available to expand your dog's situational familiarity.
